The classic mild, orange cheese that we have been used to in America. I have found it at Carre Four and at Alpha Beta. I've heard that it is available at larger Sklavenitis stores.
The Carre Four stores sell it sliced and pre-packaged so that you can just pick it up off the shelf.
If you want it grated or in a larger quantity, then you have to ask for it. The Greek word is τζέδαρ pronounced CHED-ar.
The word for "grated" is τριμμένο pronounced tree-MEN-oh.
If you don't ask for a quantity, the clerk will ask you "πόσο?" which means "how much?"
